"There were nights without a roof, days without a single dime, and times when I felt I could not reach out to anyone." - Gabriel Covington
There has always been an undeniable reality – I did not simply want to exist.
To me, existing does not cut it.
I wanted to create something that would change the world in some small way.
I grew up in the inner city, where aspirations came after survival, where dreaming was never a guarantee, and some days we just did not know what tomorrow would look like.
I was nevertheless certain that I was going to create opportunities for people to have agency over their freedom.
I was a young father. Too young.
And my world was now bigger than just me.
There were nights without a roof, days without a single dime, and times when I felt I could not reach out to anyone.
But I could learn.
I had no investors.
I had no mentors.
I had no startup incubator.
But I had open-source tutorials and online forums late into the night, and a vision that wouldn’t let me quit.
I learned coding, cryptography, trading, and smart contracts through sleepless nights.
Blockchain was my freedom.
My education.
My escape.
And from the storm, WristKey Global Solutions became a reality, without venture capital.
There were no advertisements.
We did not have major corporations in our corner.
This was built through hard work. Through coding. Through belief.
We celebrated each achievement.
Every partnership, every user – all based on trust and community, not advertising dollars.
It did not come without challenges.
Intellectual property theft.
People took other jobs for better pay.
Funding was hard to find.
I had all the doubts.
Was I thinking too big?
Was I hoping too far outside my norm?
What I learned is that it is never too big.
Believe when there is no one to believe with you.
Today, WGS is reaching an international stage. Our team has built protocols to support wallets, smart devices, and education programs for blockchain – we are putting power and potential back in people's hands and an opportunity for ownership of their own power.
Every impediment was a lesson.
Every frustration was a pivot.
We are proof that you don’t need privilege to innovate – just grit.
Not only can one start from nothing and without investors, but one can also create something that can disrupt the way people interact with technology.
Because it is not about crypto.
The story revolves around people like me who were never expected to be here.
Your story matters.
Your challenges will reveal your strength.
And, most importantly, this is what WristKey Global Solutions is all about; a grassroots movement fueled by resilience, intention, and knowledge that brilliance can come from ashes.
