Krishna Tamalia Vora: From Defying Expectations to Building Mom’s Therapy

The world I was born into inferred that girls should not reach great heights, so I decided to rise anyway.

Now founder of Mom's Therapy, I was born into the Rabari community in Saurashtra, where the girl child is often considered a liability rather than a strong voice.

At a young age I learned that there could be no life of my choice without fighting for it - that was my first truth. I faced societal, familial, and orthodox resistance to determine my educational future.

I chose to pursue my education anyway and ended up studying criminal law against the open opposition of many. I faced a continued battle for my educational outcome even after my marriage when I was 21 years old; I was divorced less than a year later.

Everything around me felt unstable, heavy, and cruel.

When I moved to Mumbai, I had broken dreams and a courageous spirit held together by one desire: to survive.

Years later, I chose to marry again, but to a man 22 years older than me. Society did not pause long enough to judge why I would marry a man that age; they labelled me. They said I was a gold digger when my husband was actually bankrupt at the time we married.

I was forced to prove my intent, my strength, and my worth every day.

That was the deepest grief I experienced - emotionally, mentally, and socially.

I stood by my choices. And most importantly, I stood by myself.

In 2016, my life changed forever when I started Mom’s Therapy from my kitchen, with nothing but faith, guts, and instinct. This brand wasn’t just business for me; it birthed me.

I am a girl from Saurashtra.

I’m an educated woman from a Gujarati medium Government School.

I’m a woman who once had trouble speaking English.

Today, I’m an entrepreneur with my own identity—the founder of my own company.

My journey has been shared through many platforms, including Shark Tank India, the French Consulate, IIM Ahmedabad, Times of India, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan's recognition, and even Mann Ki Baat.

This is not merely a success story. It’s a story of resilience, courage, and firmly choosing to trust yourself over and over again.

It wasn’t an overnight success.

I rose after exhausting everything.

And this is just the beginning! ✨
