Vignesh Anand's Journey: From Dairy Farmer to Founder of Agri-Tech Startup Findicus

Vignesh Anand's Findicus Journey

I always knew one thing: I didn’t want to be employed.

My college experience got me placed with three companies, I took one, but soon left.

They paid me every two weeks.

But did they fill me with passion?

Nope.

So I left.

I didn’t have any specific plan, I just wanted to build something real.

Something that had purpose.

I ended up stumbling upon dairy farming.

The simplicity of it. The honesty of the work.

Creating something that was required with my own hands, a light went off.

I was definitely not my father's favorite child.

But I convinced him.

I purchased my first cow with whatever savings I had.

Then, I bought ten more.

At that point, I thought maybe I had done the right thing.

Then reality slapped me in the face:

Feed prices skyrocketed. Market prices were unpredictable. Health challenges became tough.

Losses piled on top of losses.

I had to shut it down.

But the good news for you is that sometimes failure isn’t quite the end.

Sometimes, it is the beginning of clarity.

While running the dairy, one problem was hitting me over and over and over again.

Buying and selling cattle was nothing short of chaos.

Prices were random.

The middlemen made all of the money.

And trust? It was non-existent.

I thought that was just me.

Then I started to find out that other farmers were having the same experience.

It turns out, it was all of us

That’s when the concept of Findicus started to form.

A simple question:

What if we made livestock trading transparent?

We built Findicus, a digital platform for farmers in Tamil Nadu to buy and sell livestock and poultry without a middleman.

Real-time listings. Fair and transparent pricing. No commission.

Just openness and trust.

And we made it free.

Today, thousands of farmers are actively using Findicus to help broaden their market reach.

And now we have our eyes on the next level: Raising money, expanding to more states, and creating sustainable revenue models that keep farmers as the priority.

My dairy goal may not have worked out.

But it gave me something better.

A deeper problem to solve.

A bigger goal to chase.

Sometimes the first step doesn’t take you where you want to go, it takes you where you are supposed to be.

This is just the beginning.

We are building for rural India, for the people who feed the nation.

And we are just getting started.
